On my best friend's couch looking toward the kitchen.

On my best friend's couch looking toward the kitchen.

A Poem by Brooke Faulkner

Directly under the kitchen light in the window all is illuminated
bright in fluorescent tinged color. The further out from the bulb
the eye travels the duller the colors become until lively green
leaves blend into one stagnant charcoal, monochrome.

I don't know what to do with this. Imagism is my goal but I guess I need a lot more practice before I can capture something like in a picture.

Yeah, me too. Detail is the key and something I'm learning myself. I could see the image you described fine, short as it is. Good one.
