Luminous Nights

Luminous Nights

A Poem by brownie
"

A man questions his fears...

"

If the woods are

Lovely, dark and deep,

Then why

Do I fear them?

What about their luminous leaves

And ever-lasting essence

Is it that truly

Frightens me?

(Moonlight casting shadows

On tree-trunks of glory,

Bathed in blood--

My blood--

And I wonder about my dreams.)

Is it because--

Just because--

And only because--

I died in a forest?

Wow this is like looking back after dreadful death and the person must of got so damaged that they forgot there memory. Then bit by bit they start remembering everything. I think it is very clever way of writing. It's captivating to me and it gets me so drawn I can never forget it.

A ghost who still has fear? Come on! ;-)
Apart from that, I like this poem. It's captivating the reader by the questions posed. Plus, you painted a vivid picture of the wood. Nice writing!

I really liked this. Different, dark and dramatic. Wonderful ending =)

I think this is a very well constructed introspectively dark and ominous write. A touch of Poe about this. Sinister would be pretty accurate, nice one, spence

What a dark and beautiful piece. With gorgeous flow and a twisted, stunning ending, it's an absolute amazing read.
Well done!

Wow i didn't expect that a nice twist to it because you left me trying to figure out why your afraid of the dark and it turned out to be murder. This was awesome.
