do what you do

do what you do

A Poem by Brandon
"

another song about an ex

"

im not asking you to walk back through my door im kicking you out you stupid w***e, you played both sides as you stood on the fence. like it was helping your confidence, you did what did, you said what you said, dont blame me when you cant get back in my head

i heard your song, saw your dance, and for you wanting me back not a chance. do what you do say what you say, but this is the price you pay for the game you played

so when you come around here, asking me why cant we be what we used to be. you know the answer, youre like a cancer on my heart, you played your part in this f*****g scene, but now the curtains closing

i heard your song, saw your dance, and for you wanting me back not a chance. do what you do say what you say, but this is the price you pay for the game you played

so now youre running to what you were running from, begging to know why this is what weve become, it’s a shame that you can see that this is your own self inflicted misery.

I have to say that I was immediately shocked by the introduction of who you are talking to in this one. I gasped, which I always take as a good thing. If you can shock me with your words, then you've done your job. Not that the use of words like w***e is necessary, but in this case, it did set the tone and gave me an idea of what was going on in your mind at the time. My favorite line in this one is without a doubt "so now you're running to what you were running from, begging to know why this is what we've become."
