The Death Song

The Death Song

A Poem by Souradeep
"

Those who have the strength and the love to sit with a dying patient in the silence that goes beyond words will know that this moment is neither frightening nor painful, but a peaceful cessation.

"
The sun shone today with its brightest light,
Felt as if the day was white,
Too old to open my eyes,
Too old to feel the sun rise,

Instinct

I know today is the day of my death,
78 years all the memory's fade,
Still i want to be the child, The little immature kind, With you forever My wife said that she'll wait for me, After all this is over i will come to thee, My son told me that he hates me, I am a burden and so was she, Today i bid farewell to all, My wife will be waiting the one above all, Remembrance
Had a good life,HAD a good son, No more regrets, everything's done, I held you with both my hands, I loved you and gave you all my land, Yet that was a very little fee To give you for taking care of me. Yet Curse and abuse is what i got, Burden was a word that was often thrown upon, But son i bless you have a good life, Get a job and have a wife, Tired I have run a thousand miles, I am tired and i will rest for a while, My body is slowly turning pale, because it is just a withered shell, Death bells God has now come forth, To give me a hand and take me aboard, i can't leave this earth as a whole, so i'll journey on with my soul.....

Beautiful and heart breaking. Your poem speaks close to my heart for I've been there. Sitting, waiting, crying, praying, hoping. Days, weeks, months. but in the end you are correct, it is a peaceful.
