Perception II

Perception II

A Story by burntwounds

The world is built on a pile of perceptions.
A pile built by 7.7 billion people."
"Wasn't this bound to happen?" I asked.
You smile ironically, asking, "Don't you think that
If people did not interpret things the way they do,
It would be a different world altogether?
Or maybe what I'm trying to say is,
If people did not stop interpreting things in their own way
Even after something has been proposed
Would it not have been better?"
11.11 p.m. The clock showed,
and I asked myself what's the thing with wishes being granted at this instant?
Again, it's a perception turned into belief.
Belief that it makes the wishes come true.
The world is built on perceptions.
Perception that the Earth is round, which happens to be proven.
Perception that the cat crossing the street is a bad omen.
Perception is built on experience, I say.
7.7 billion people experience most things differently.
But why do they believe in everything that seems easy to accept?
The reality is different and not we accept out of sheer negligence
And we've got to fall down, bruise ourselves,
before we reach the eternal truth.
