Things I Shouldn't Say

Things I Shouldn't Say

A Poem by Stephanie M.

Things I shouldn't say
I repeat to myself
In my head
Trying to focus on what's reality
What's fantasy
What's right
What's not
Flowers bloom, The sun sets
The earth trembles
The ground shakes
And dances

If I could, I would
If I tried, I wouldn't regret
Thoughts of what could have happened
What should have happened

There goes my inspiration
Thrown out into the air
Lifted by a balloon
Filled up with every drop of emotion
I've ever had

And so goes my judgement
conquer the world
save humanity
eat chocolate cake
rise to each occasion.

the end.

This was the first poem I wrote. Usually, the things I write are very simple, there is no hard thinking involved.

Simple is probably one of the hardest things to be (and write), it is hard to get to the place where things that should be simple actually are simple. I really like this poem, I especially like the second stanza, it is simple but deep makes me feel and do some hard thinking. Great job.
