Love's Bound(aries)?

One of those sappy, cliche, desperate love poems...

What are loves’ boundaries?

 

Is it when you’ve gone passed the accepting point

Is it when you’ve felt all the pain there is to feel

Is it when you’ve given all

Yet it is never enough

 

Is it when you hurt more than you heal

Is it when you’re dying more than you’re living

Is it when you ache at the name

Yet you never want the hurt to fade

 

When is it too much?

 

Is it when he holds another

Yet still calls you “his girl”

Is it when he kisses another

Yet still whispers into your heart “I love you”

 

Is it after you’ve cried

Enough tears your body turns numb

Or is it before you smile

Too vulnerably to stop yourself

 

When do you stop?

 

Is it after your world has been turned around

Yet now he’s not even there to spin it right

Is it when he tells you you’re the only one

Yet he leaves in the middle of the night

 

Is it when his absence increases by the day

Or is it the increasing hurt by his absence 

Is it when the pain becomes too hard to bare

Or when the pain is just bearable

 

Or is it when all is sufferable because you know it’s right.

Very poetic and so heroic. I honestly love the overall rhythm of this poem although it would've been better if you don't suddenly replace "is it" with "it is". I think the whole poem will work better if everything was a question, so that the answers are left for the readers to decipher. Interesting poem with such lovely repetition.

This one is so true... Love is such a complicated thing. I really felt the emotions in this poem. I think I've been through every scenario illustrated too. Good write.
