In The Forest

In The Forest

A Poem by A.Lee
"

pain gives birth to beauty

"
Deep within the hidden forest
It seems there's naught but endless rain
A perpetual gloom that blankets the trees
A sky that weeps and groans in pain

Deep within the hidden forest
It seems all hope is rinsed away
All cries for help drowned out by thunder
And nothing good desires to stay

But don't give up; its not the end
The sun breaks through every once in a while
And in that moment the forest glows
Lush greens blow gently in the calming wind
Flowers bloom in the brightest hues
As a rainbow settles overhead

Why can't I be like the forest?
I want my pain to make me grow
To display my beauty instead of heartache
I want the best of me to show

Why can't I be like the forest?
And while the rain pounds over me
I'll take it in and I will flourish
So when the sun breaks, I will be

Very well done. The vivid description in this is absolutely beautiful. You can feel the nature growing around you as you read this poem. So hopeful and encouraging, really gives life to nature rather than depicting nature as tattered and weak. Although, I do have to say that in the last two stanzas. It's all a matter of choice because humans can be like the forest, pain can make us grow and make us more beautiful because we'll be more self-confident (and confidence is sexy ;P). A really inspired way of expressing these emotions. Well done.

As any other poem of yours..
This too conveys a beautiful , touching , sublime message….
Of which …I cant write…
But it is there in my heart….
If I say that same emotion you felt while writing this….
Evoked my mind too, while reading this poem….
Can you understand, how much I like your writing…

A really good poem, I like the metaphor. The spiritual message touches on the subject of depression without sounding angsty, which is hard to do. Really inspiring, and it's thoughts like that that get us through hard times, right? The last two stanzas are my favorite because of the emotion depicted. Overall, good job.

Very effective use of pathetic fallacy here. A lot of people try to use this technique but end up getting too carried away with the description to allow the metaphors to fully take hold. Here you have managed to do it clearly, but subtly, which is indeed a fine art. I enjoyed the last two stanzas the most--we all wish our pain could help us better ourselves, as our elders tell us, and not all of us are that lucky. Your linking this to a forest speaks volumes. Your meaning is very clear.
