Starlight

Starlight

A Poem by A.Lee

Caught twinkling stars between my toes

To line the road I’ve trod with light

A gold reminder of where I’ve been

Of how I’ve managed every plight

This stardust twinkles through the years

Though all the love and pain I’ve seen

Illuminating countless faces

As I remember every scene

I can see where I have fallen

The things that made me stumble there

I see the ones who were my anchor

Through times I thought I couldn’t bear

But as I map the road before me

I feel my heart sigh,”Not again.”

Can’t see this darkened place before me

So I look back at where I’ve been…

Caught twinkling starts between my toes

To line the road I’ve trod with light

Reminding me that there is hope

When I can’t stand to face the night
