Accepting Denial

Accepting Denial

A Poem by Not Afraid of Bruises
"

inspired by Kahlil Gibran's words : "You and your enemy will be close friend when you both die" - or something like that...

"

I am not

this box

this face

this human condition

of wanting and needing and

greed.

If I could

be more

know and do and speak up more

I bet that

my words would swallow you,

drag you down to face

your own reality and

there we would meet

and be friendly.

lol, for some reason this makes me laugh. What comes to mind is this two dimensional world with a middle layer (grass) and there is a guy walking around with the sun on his face. then he falls between the grass into this under layer. and in there there is a girl who is frightening at first, but turns out to be very nice and pleasant... kind of like a bear that turns out to be one of those kind teddy bear people or a leather-clad, greese covered biker that looks like he;s going to rip your head off, but turns out to be a very emotional dude. that's what this reminds me of. don;t think that was what you were trying to say, but i liked it. i liked how it was short and choppy. reminded me of a box... idk what im trying to say, sry :P

Deep piece of writing...it makes one ponder another world, where the writer was at the time of writing this, and last but not least how does this poem apply to my own life. Great job!
