Open Flame

Open Flame

A Poem by Not Afraid of Bruises

 Burning a

Desire to be burning

They never teach you passion in

Schools, instead

Everyone assumes their roles

Firmly believing in what

They believe they must be.

I was told violence

            Was never an option.

I learned to fight back

            And people rarely experience that

For it does not fit

My assumes desires

They do not notice.

I’ve learned a new way to burn…
