Mistakes

Mistakes

A Poem by Caitlain McGuire

Can I ask you how you see me?
And is it any different now?
I'm so sorry that I'm not what you wanted
And I'm paying for it, lying on the ground

I'm hoping we could just forget it
'X' it out, and turn the page
I hope you still see me as innocent,
And if not, is it something I could gain?

I heard a while ago, no one is perfect
And sometimes, you got to piece your heart together
So do you think you could forgive me?
Or do you wish that God gave toy better?

To tell you the cold, hard truth
I'm not good enough
And it's clear to everyone
I'm not worthy of anybody's love

Most days, I lay in bed
I feel numb, I start to cry
Not like anyone would notice
If I hid away the rest of my life

A sad poem. Hard to overcome sadness and disappointment. The strong description allowed the reader to feel the sadness and fear to know trust and love again. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
