Poverty of the Night

Poverty of the Night

A Poem by alex ramirez

Fond memories
Of sitting around
Getting high, laughing
Hysterically
And the night
Was pure
So we rushed
Headlong into it
Only to
Find supernatural
Horrors

Well that escalated quickly. Short and sweet though, conveys a light tone then quickly turns dark but doesn't give anything away. Almost makes the reader wish it were longer, but it leaves the rest to his or her imagination. Well done.
