Acoustic Melancholy Madness

Acoustic Melancholy Madness

A Poem by Call It A Day
"

Some type of insanity.

"

I got the madness tremors

the writing lyrical nonsense madness

the faillin, fell, spillin, tremblin in love madness

out of sight )mind), imagination madness,

over-bearing, shoulder-weight happiness/insanity,

lost, and wanting to be lost madness

rhythm and harmonic suffering blues

drowning in the rain and grains of sand.

Acoustic Melancholy Madness

ragtag scoundrel madness

missin the ambient city skyline

and bending river madness

constant sorrow and bliss, bluegrass sadness

quiet------------------------

continued radiance.

country radiance and backcountry ramblin'

madness

but it's alright, though, girl,

I got you and the world ahead,

twisted in happy life and romance

(madness)

Three things I enjoyed:

1) How the line "I got you and the world ahead," hits the reader.
2) The change of pace with "quiet------------------------"
3) Usually twisted can't be used well in poetry, but it used well in "twisted in happy life and romance"

Three things I think could change:

1) "constant sorrow and bliss, bluegrass sadness" A different word besides constant could be used to make this line stronger.
2) "country radiance and backcountry ramblin'" A more striking distinction could be used here.
3) "over-bearing, shoulder-weight happiness/insanity," Overbearing is usually written as one word.
