Adaline

Adaline

A Poem by Madi Bellon
"

I tried something different with this poem, it's longer than what I usually do.

"
My dearest Adaline -
with the blondest of hair,
and the bluest of eyes
the happiest of smiles,
joyous and pride
a smile, such as yours
has something to hide
My Adaline, my Adaline
you're picturesque vanity
it is a mask, I see
to hide your obscene profanity
Your ruby red lips,
compliment your tragic eyes
your voice is an echo of a beautiful hell,
it lures them in, it drags us in
They cannot help but fight
your wickedly haunting laugh
drowns out their dying cries,
you smile with every death, I see
the vengeance in your eyes
with every cut, every bite -
It makes you feel alive
ironically, you're not
and here they still do fight
But no one will survive,
My dearest Adaline.
