Cold

Cold

A Poem by Cami
"

Short poem about someone who had their lover taken by cancer.

"

The office is quiet.

I turn my head,

Look at you.

And you smile.

We’re in your room.

You are sick,

And in my lap.

I watch you laugh.

You didn’t show up for school.

Open the door to see,

You standing there, weak.

You hug me.

Went to an amusement park.

You loved it, bought candy

Floss and popcorn.

We held hands.

Everyone left the room.

I lean down,

Cup your face into my hands.

We kiss.

The office is quiet.

Everyone already left, but me,

I can’t stop these tears.

The air beside me is cold.
