Relentless

Relentless

A Poem by Berkley Conner Jr

The pain enters only to begin

All I can feel is the agony within

Shrill cries for help to live

Yet they leak into the body like a sieve

One after another hey eat my flesh

The blood left slain is fresh

The minds reality is altered

One thought one beginning faltered

Strength to live subsides

Something is twisting pushing out my insides

I can only do what is human

Fall to my death as the plan

Leave soul leave body behind

Hope the forces of evil are kind

Slaughtering but rural truths

Not even as strong as the serpents tooth

Painting the retrospective life

Just as I cut myself with the knife

Pure pleasures lead to enjoyment

Our lives are only for rent
