Cognitive Neuroscience: In The Media (Acrostic Poem)

Cognitive Neuroscience: In The Media (Acrostic Poem)

A Poem by Candice Stanfield
"

Commentary on the gross misrepresentation of scientific data in the media for personal gain.

"

Can you fathom the headlines now?

Ongoing misleadings, a soundbite from

Groundbreaking work, understood by few

Nescient hopefuls grasp at its

Implications of how

The world would be better

If only these findings meant what the “journalists” proclaimed

Vehemently,

Endlessly.

                 .

                        .

Notwithstanding evidence

Every word typed with a punch! Clung to, in fascination, in

Unending hunger to force small details into large boxes.

Reprehensible!

Outlandish!

Scandalous!

Cleverly worded for clickbait, to

Increase their share/like/subscribe counter

Etching a name for themselves on the work of others,

No regard for impact of false proclamations

Cleverly splotched with buzz words.

Even the quick fall victim at times.
