love in flames

love in flames

A Poem by Candy Cane
"

second thoughts? sabotage?

"

i’m the one walked out that door
so why’s it hurt so bad?
standing out here in the cold,
the night rain falls
on my open soul exposed
looking in now at my life
i have come undone.
thought i could just walk away
but my stone cold heart begins to sway
and remembers all your ways.
our memories, they spin me out, heart in mouth
to a naked pile a string lyin on his floor.
i’m playing with fire baby, watch me burn.
burn this house, this life
i’ll burn this love down to the ground.

shh. don’t say a word

and watch this love go up in flames.

This is very well done.

Sad, but well written. Of course we
all know the hurt will wash away in the
rain, the sun will shine again and love will
bloom again.

Excellent writing.

I think that it is a very typical break up piece, not that I'm saying it's bad, but I do love the imgadry of the rain falling. Because it's always true that when the hardest times come in your life it always seems to be raining or storming out. As if you control the weather. I really liked the last line too. Each stanza plays off the other very nicely.

very provocative, it makes you feel like you are the one right there, standing in the rain, with doubts and then determination. Very well done!
