I never thought

A poem.. about someone ..someone i cant quite get out of my mind... a friend of mine now.. but means so much more to me

I never thought id lose you

i never thought you would ever turn away

guess in the end i was playing with fire

and you were the flame

 

remember all our conversations

remember all our dreams

our jokes, our smiles

our secrets all exchanged

 

i never thought id lose you

i never thought you'd leave

i guess i saw it coming

feeling you slowly drift away

 

i remember when it started

feeling the tug of your distance

you were running long before it happend

you knew what you were doing

 

i never thought id lose you

i never thought our friendship would end

guess i wasnt holding tight enough

cause i felt you slowly slipping through my grasp

 

looking back, i let you go

i couldent of persuaded you to stay

so i sat back and hoped you would never leave

i knew i was loosing you, but i didnt think you would let go

 

i never thought id lose you

i never thought you would leave me

guess i belived in you to much

put my life in your hands unwisely

 

you streched and pulled

until you where sure it would be easy to break the bond

with every tug i felt myself cave in

waiting for you to catch me as i fell

 

i never thought id lose you

i never thought youd let me hit the floor

you held me so high, you kept me safley above the clouds

then you pulled me back down

 

your words came like bullets

i heard them before you said them

felt the floor collide before i hit the bottom

and i knew it was what you wanted

 

i never thought id lose you

i never thought you would be the one to hurt me

you were part of me

you tore that cruelly and threw me to the floor

 

i sit here where you left me

calling your name softly over the wind

knowng you may well never return

but never giving up hope that you will be back

 

I never thought it was over

i never thought you would be the end of me

looking back on the memories

i kno ive lost something special

 

Its over now, i know

but i cant let go i have to belive

i owe you that

not to just lose the memories

 

i never thought id lose you

i never thought you'd turn away

i guess i was living in a dream world

you where the black and white truth
