boat

A Poem by Anonymous 79

we build worlds behind our eyes where our tiny boats can't be capsized we tell the world we're doing fine and hate ourselves when it's a lie do you see through my lies? behind my eyes your can find the place i go to cry and wonder why i always fight instead of let old battles die we build worlds behind our eyes where our tiny boats can't be capsized we tell the world we're doing fine i hate myself when i have to lie you're not always right that's why i always fight should i let that battle die? why? is fighting right? i know you'll win again tonight even though your facts aren't right i am not a ship unsinkable why is that so unthinkable? i am tossed over careless waves i hold on my thoughts, it keeps them safe is staying silent brave? should i take my opinions to my watery grave? or should i speak over the storm? i've been warned children should be seen, not heard you stopped the ocean with a word you tear down my world with a phrase and set my tiny ship ablaze
