For Her

For Her

A Poem by Carly
"

Symbolism of a love that makes you feel trapped so is it really love at all?

"

For her

her love pulled me in like waves

she had me crashing and thrashing

wild for a breath of air

I was suffocating in her grasp

that wrapped me like a newborn babe

            searching for comfort and warmth

and I found her arms couldn’t hold me at all

her strength lied only in the power of numbers

yet her waves dragged me far from shore

but if this is love, how can I say

she doesn’t ground me like the land could

that her blood tastes of dirt and suffering and I hate it

I don’t long for her at all

and I’m sorry I long for stability of sand

when its not your fault the water is wild and unforgiving
