STAR GAZING

STAR GAZING

A Poem by Lost

Sometimes
I can’t breathe
When I kiss

Like the colliding
Of lips and noses
Creates a vacuum seal
Around my mouth

The air drains
Out of my lungs
And into theirs
I deflate pleasantly

I breathe
My being
Away

I give
My lungs
A break

I let
Them sit
Empty

Until
I see
Stars

A dizzying galaxy
Under my eyelids
Twinkles in tandem
With each spiral
Drawn onto my skin
With the tips
Of gentle fingers

Breathless
My vision fades
To black
Constellations
Becoming fuzzy

I slip deeper
Into the night
Hoping when
I open my eyes
Nothing but
Darkness
And sensation
Remains
