Elasticity

A Poem by Carolyn Jean
"

Ever feel as if you're going around in circles? Me too

"
I have been pulled, pulling back
Dragging back and forth, some slack
I slack and I am forced, start over
I start again but I go nowhere

Only the time on the clock changes

But you see, it starts back where it began
Round-about again around this bend
You, my friend, you know I tend
To make the same mistakes over and over again
Revolutions, rotations, constant continuations
Will I ever learn? Never ever had a revelation
Yet
I've changed, I'll do better next time,
I've learned from my mistakes
I'm the same, I'll do the same again
and I'll continue to partake in the same mondain
Day to day routine of hear, listen
Night to night continue to ignore, missing
What is the point? The next day I wish
That the next day I could accomplish
What is expected of me, but rather
Escape my own rotation and return to what matters,
still

Only the time on the clock changes

I am being pulled, pulling back
Dragging back and forth, I can't give myself slack
And I know that I can't do this over
I try again, I don't want to go nowhere

Sounds like washing machine deja vu....wash,rinse,repeat....nicely done!! :)

Reminds me of deja vu, in an odd way, I guess. But we do often see ourselves going in circles in certain situations, and during these roundabouts we don't see the choices that were wrapping around us. It is very well written and express
