The Sound Of Silence

The Sound Of Silence

A Poem by Carolyn_(V)iolence [<Revan>]

Everything is quiet now.

The wind is hot as it whips my hair

Drying my tears so rapidly that only salt remains on my cheeks

The skin beneath my eyes, grey where the residue

Of my once perfectly placed eye liner has settled.

This life is meaningless.

How I wish my heart would stop beating,

Or my lungs could stop converting oxygen into carbon dioxide.

How I long, so badly,

To not be,

To live, no more.
