love letters

A Poem by caryhoneybee

love letters

Love letters to you
have lingered their words
in my mind for days...
~No, there is no such thing as time.

My heart skips little beats
like little careless feets
at those thoughts your mind sends me...
~No. There are walls and lovers and such
between us.

My hands on my hips beckon you,"Come to me."
My lips say,"We who are born are born free."
My shoulders cajole," All that is, is destiny..."
~No, forget it, there's no such thing.

but we danced and kissed,
so many countless times,
we the husbands and the wives...
~No,there is no reason to lie,
such are the perils of attraction.

And within the warmth of Love's embrace,
Compassion's faith so does erase
The folly and sweet disgrace
Of any invite to temptation.

your words paint pictures for me i see your hands on the hips, the glint of hope yet not in your eye or in both eyes as you realize what lies there against all odds. I think it is these pictures that allow me to look into your poems that most poets aren't able to do! Good writing Cary--Frank
