she

she

A Poem by carynolivia

She is deafening thunder
and blinding lightning
and she'll burn you,
if you're not afraid of a little spark.

She's a twister
spiralling out of control
and she'll suck you up--
wrap you in--
suffocate you--
if you get too close.

She's the reason
for the tidal waves
that flood your chest cavity;
for the tsunamis
that drown your lungs
and swallow you whole.

Given the chance,
(and a little bit of wind)
she'll make a hurricane of your heart.

I know this type of woman! I've felt her storms sneak up on me, or like those dramas of creative personalities who make you feel you are in the eye of a hurricane.

What I like most about your style is how contemporary it feels, and how accessible it is to a wide range of audiences. In that, you have a lovely mainstream style.
