Guns in AmericaA Story by casmihokI understand some people LOVE their guns, I understand, I get it. But too many children, animals, innocent people are being shot. The math is getting a little too simple for me, take guns out of the equation... or at least try to take guns out of the equation. People say, "what about guns people get illegally". Ya! What about em? At least we should minimize the ownership of guns as much as we can! I am sorry if I hurt some of your feelings, obviously not everybody's a lunatic! But TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE. I watched a kid get a life sentence for shooting and killing multiple people at a house party... he got upset because his girlfriend broke up with him and so he bought a weapon and fatally murdered them. The dude is not right in the head, that is clear, but what if he couldn't buy that gun? That's 4 kids who probably wouldn't have been shot and killed, that's 8 parents who wouldn't have had to lower their babies 6 feet under and cover them for eternity. It hits too hard, it's a world of pain I can't even imagine. Since 1982, 74% of mass shootings were carried out with guns bought LEGALLY My question to people who say "gun control is not going to help at all, gun control won't save lives, it's just taking away a constitutional right". Why not give it a go? What do we have to lose? Because in honesty, all we have to lose is a couple thousand funerals. I think we could do without... 1. It is taking away a constitutional right, that was written in 1787. It's a little outdated ("well is freedom of speech outdated?" Which my response would be, "Can I blow your brains out with my words?" Answer: No. But I could blow your brains out with a gun, and so can the 18.5 percent of America that's mentally ill or anybody in the other 81.5% percent that is just hanging on to their sanity. I guess my point is, why not try a little gun control. Why not try and make a difference? I don't even have children, but I have second hand worry for every mother and father. In 2016, 3,143 children were shot and killed. US leads in the death of children by firearm. If that doesn't scare you I don't know what will. I wouldn't mind giving up the constitutional right of firearms, if it meant the possibility of saving even one life. © 2019 casmihok |
