Remember

Remember

A Poem by cassandra violet

Your heart is a light,

a glistening sunrise.

You can ignite it

in any hour of

darkness, no matter

how deep the dusk,

black the ripples in

the pond, high the tide

of your night.

So when you find

yourself in darkness,

remember that you

aren’t trapped.

All it takes is a match to

light the candle of

your heart and let the

wild fire guide you

from the dim setting

to be free to

watch the sun

as it gleams over

the morning sea.

Your light is in your heart.

if its logs have been

rained upon and

cannot be lit, then

don’t give up hope,

for time dries all wetness,

all weeping, and all wounds.

If you must wait to dry,

then sit and sing

to survive. You’ll be fine

as long as your voice

is louder then the chaotic

sound of silence.

Your heart is a light,

a glistening sunrise;

and your soul is a

a sweet song,

a delightful tune,

the rising morning dew.
