![]() The RoadA Poem by cassandra violet![]() another poem in my collection of poems on dreams that I've had.![]() My sleep was stroked with The paint of a road in Which I was not sure Where walking down It I would go, but The wind whispered That my soles needed to Embark on the pavement Of the puzzling path In order to find the Forgotten essence of My soul. So I did as I was told, strolling The winding road. It led me to foreign Settings shinning under The sun, before I was Brought to that of Which I had sought- A decaying valley Dressed in dead dirt With silent birds whose Eyes stalked my shadow. I smiled as I gazed upon The sight, for the dreary Scene triggered the memories Of everything worth seeing That the path had shown Me before. I stood there for A moment before I turned My back from the path To face the beauty of The vast, setting sail into The world’s unknown to roam and find everything lovely with the time that I had left to feel the wind’s sweet caress. © 2011 cassandra violetReviews
