Into the Waves

Into the Waves

A Poem by cassandra violet

I came to a shore

shivering as the sea poured over my feet

I felt the waves become me

yet as I glanced behind

back at the cracked pavement of the road

the scratched mountain cliffs

the falling petals

the browning leaves

my heart began to sink

drowning in the tide of the colored memories

but when I saw the sun set upon the bay

and brush the waves with the hues my heart held onto

I knew that it was time to plunge into the water

and so I jumped, never looking back

letting my heart tango with the end of the day

savoring the taste of the dance.

A amazing poem. I like the journey you took me with your words. The description made the words come alive. A very good ending to the poem. Best days are dancing with the waves and feeling the embrace of the sea. A outstanding poem. Thank you.

I hate this part. This is the part where I try to tell you who I am, what I've been and what I want with every single last milimeter of blood dancing in my veins to become- the person who my heart bea.. more..
