Galleons

Galleons

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

Apologies for typo - using my tiny phone screen, on holiday

"

in glorious sun
an armada of gold leaves
glide in grace downstream

galleons sailing
in full majestic splendour
sunset waits in awe

Autumn leaves floating down a stream. How often we used to stand on a little footbridge watching them whilst walking the dog. Now it is an industrial estate. Ships that pass in the night, like so much plundered rural beauty. Your poem brought back those memories,Chris.

Thank you Light. It was very beautiful to witness.

Christine, your alliteration is placed beautifully across the twin haiku form.
The poem gleams gold all over and drifts slow as molasses. Nicely done.
