dang .. the Cafe' is presenting senryu today. just started my visits and already two out of three .. this one is super dark and all i can think of is getting hit in the face unawares by spider webbing ... your personification of ones tears in such a place is super says i ... dead flies ... we create these horrors in our dark corners and paint them with unapproachable horror so as never to be looked at in the light .. but they fester don't they? powerful stuff ma'am! really has me thinking! thanks for sharing

Tears being trapped like dead flies...

This say so much in a few short words. I have had tears trapped in my heart like flies in a spider web many times in my life. I also like the imagery that these words paint.

You have a great day as well
My eyes grow dim... and I seldom notice the
cobwebs in my mind. But then I remember
the times when hearts were aglow with
amber moments of eternal love and affection.

Hi Chris... I recently posed a Haiku... I need your heart print
Speechless - concise poetry holds such powerful impact - I love this Chris - the detail is so vibrantly vivid - what stories those tears could tell...amazing imagery! :)

My corridors are like that. I know I should clean them out, but I am attached to the cobwebs and the tears.
Or, maybe they are attached to me...
I like this little poem very-very much!

Thank you Laz for your very generous comment. Much appreciated.

Chris
I think what is being referred to here is the mind. Painful memories can live on in the recesses of consciousness for years. Sometimes current experiences can bring them to the surface. The tears may be trapped, but that doesn't mean they are dead.

We all have bad memories
Like flies trapped in spider webs
We walk through them unaware blind in the dark
Trapping us
Great poem

The tears of yesteryear, remembering all of them, trapped in cobwebs, probably in a dark cellar. A very clever poem here Chris. I like your choice of words to show us what was then, re-visited. I used to hate to go down to our cellar because my mother once shrieked when she found a snake! And I'm sure there were plenty of cobwebs, not sure if there were tears. A short, thoughtful piece.

Hello, Christine! :)
My first thought was that someone should get in there with a broom and get it cleaned up, but maybe they dont make those sort of brooms. Its an interesting read. Thanks for sharing.
