LOOK DEEP

When you look at me you see the crazy, out going, hard worker and so on

You see a person who is enjoying life

You see someone who has a bright future ahead of him

There is more to that then what meets the eyes

Look really deep into my eyes

Look really deep you will see someone that has had to struggle

Someone that things haven't not come to

Someone who has been told they there were going to be nothing

That was going to be worthless and not successful in life

Just going to be a loser and waste of space

Someone who was picked on through out their education career

That was never given a chance to be show people who they really were

A person who loved school but hated going

Look really deep and you will see something else

A wonderfully structured poem that is easy to read. So true..there are many layers to a person. We don't always see the real person at first glance - or we see what we want to see.

I don't know why, but this poem reminded me of something my English teacher said once. " When looked at from a distance, everything is comedy, the misfortunes of characters seem minor. When looked at close up, everything is tragedy."
I used to be picked on in middle school, it wasn't a fun time for me. A lot of people are picked on honestly. It's sad. A girl a few towns over killed herself last week because she was being bullied. It's disgusting honestly.
It's hard to feel successful when you've grown up hearing otherwise. I find that those who have had a struggling past often paint the most successful futures :)

I like this a lot & it is so true that we are all like onions and have many layers. I can relate to this piece of yours, especially the first paragraph.

I suspect that if you look deeper you will probably find a believer and someone who knows what it means to appreciate the small moments from all the lessons learnt along the way.
