Summer

Summer

A Poem by Lady Raven

Lavender floats
on humid air,
the only thing moving
on a still summer eve.

Or is it?

Dark shapes slither
in the shadows,
claiming the night’s blackness
as their own.

Keen eyes watch
and wait
under the stars
for the perfect full moon moment,
when the right prey happens by,
and all hungers are fed.

The sun will conquer the night’s secrets
tomorrow,

but for now,
there is only

tonight.
