A Poem about the passing of a friend.

 

You were leaving out on a one way train

but you will not go alone

A part of me is with you

Your heart forever my home

No time for those unspoken words

No time to say goodbye

You're taking away the best of me

and only God knows why

These tears are like a lifeline

within my tears you come alive

but I'll always be across the great divide

and only God knows why

No time for hugs and kisses

Youre leaving a hole where my heart should be

and I swear to God I love you still

but there's no more you and me

You're voice is like a soothing balm

as if to say everything has its time

but I'm just not ready to let you go

and only God knows why

I'm choking on the silence

My heart is in my hands

You've got a one way ticket home

but I swear I'll see you again

No Time for love to whisper

a heartfelt soft goodbye

They say Heaven only takes the best

and only God knows why
