Mr. President

Mr. President

A Poem by Tenten

you became the icon for defender

offering the scared masses an outlet

to the pain the fear the rising death toll

you took the stand and made the promise

of revenge in the form of weapons of mass destruction

of cruel hands and abused masses

of another day greater than the initial pain

of more life, more of this lands blood spilled

so the legal age mobs agreed

followed blindly into the answer given

away went the rights of all citizen

in the name of an act of patriots

away went the equality of religion

if you didn’t bow to the christian god

and garb yourself in the fabrics of color

or head dresses of towering wraps

away went the separation of church and state

an inch was given and that 10 mile mark

stolen and passed

but still they sat with a smile

watching the terror unfold at the hands

of our own government in the name of

a subjective ‘right’ and wrong still exist

just depends on the viewers eyes

so here we sit the children from eight years ago

counting down the time, we are the legal masses

waiting till your fall

to end a war on and Idea

a war on a people for black gold

mixed with the blood of soldiers, innocents, thieves

at the tips of lies hands

followed your lies for nearly a decade

thank you congress for not putting a stop to it

we see the flaws and with time

we recreate a world that was idolized

and set our dreams a flame  with passion

Brilliant. Although it was almost seven years ago (not eight). But none-the-less, a brilliant piece. Hope this gets passed along to he who should have never been president. This is going in my favorites. Think you might like my piece "A Letter For King George". Keep 'em coming.
