Houdini was a fraud

Houdini was a fraud

A Poem by Chad Halle

there is no magic
left, just an
entertainer. a man
who had his audience
locked in time, locked
in the palm of
his hand. houdini was
the locksmith,
the pickpocket.
the people in their
seats; handcuffs,
straightjackets,
chains.
there is no mystery
left, just
a fraud who knew the
essence of timing.

So very true. Magicians are merely illusionists---con men.

Have you ever visited the magic castle in Hollywood? It's amazing. If you like magic that is. I liked this piece for its simplicity. Must post more. xo -D.E.
