I can see it was written as lyrics for a song, it has that structure that lends itself to music.

Either way it has a very strong theme and your words are potent and have a sense of urgency and internal conflict about them. We all have our demons and our poisons; we carry them with us every day of our lives. Finding the antidote becomes an important quest if one wants to go forward with their life and become a happy person.

Very strongly written and dare i say it, haunting in theme and execution. An interesting piece of work.

I think this is pretty good! It is pretty generic, but I think that adds to its universality. Every reader can personalize it how they need to. That's always useful to songwriters.
