Monday Blues

Monday Blues

A Poem by Charchit

Resting Eyes
Resisting the wakeup alarms
And the bored arms
Pulling the cozy coverlets
Nah! I don’t want to wake
Damn to the alertness
Today, which I can’t fake
Why me? Lord why me?

At the hour when
The world is resting
Birds are sleeping
For me Fortieth wink
Is a dream today.
And I am not allowed
For that dream as well.

Is it the price?
To be paid
For two quite days
Two joyful days
If it is the reason then
I can swear a resignation
From such pleasures
If assured thumbs down to
Such day starters .

I don’t want to wake
Is what I’ve decided
But I’ll have to wake
Is what they’ve confirmed
Why should I hear them?
I know it well, they know it too

Resisting, Demanding
Combating and struggling
Asking and answering too
Alone along with the world
I am facing the Monday Blue
