The incubus.

The incubus.

A Poem by Charlotte Haran
"

This ones a bit soppy. It's about having something so precious and delicate that anything can easily ruin or manipulate it. Let me know what you think.

"
The heavens opened,
As if releasing their blessing...
On what we were yet to be.
Trembling to your touch,
You pulled me close.
Surrounded by people,
You said you only saw me.
Our hands brushed.
Breath fluttering into the near distance.
Just for a moment,
I was lost in a flawless dream.
But you were the incubus,
Beautifully enchanting.
With eyes that lurked of deceitful truth.
Misleading me down a road which bloomed with doubt,
Introducing me to a lie you had neglected to tell.
She was a Lily, beautiful and white.
Awaking to reality,
I vanished from your sight.
