One Small Step

One Small Step - C. Lee Battaglia

Empty,
Feelings deep inside me,
Just a faded memory,
Of what I used to be.
Fighting,
An ever losing battle,
I can’t escape these shackles,
I’m sinking down below.

Oh
I’ve tried to make it better,
I’ve tried with all my effort,
I’ve lost all of my hope.

Is there a purpose?
I cannot find it.
It all seems pointless,
Can’t go on like this…

But no
I’ll keep trying to get better,
I’ll give it all my effort,
I know there’s still some hope.

If you’re feeling hopeless and can’t find a reason to continue, remember that you’re not alone. Life is cruel and unforgiving at times, but nothing worth it is ever easy. You’ve come so far, don’t give up now. Things get better, I promise. It just takes one small step. Dreams shatter, but it’s up to us to bring the pieces back together.
