Stars

Stars

A Poem by Ash

The stars shine brightly up above out heads
But of course I'm more focused on the ones in your eyes
The chill of this starry night is starting to seep through the blankets
I bring the quilt up to my chin and I hear you chuckle
You pull me closer and I nestle my head on your shoulder
I look up at the stars and sigh
You ask me what I'm thinking
I don't say anything for an eternity
You kiss my nose and ask me again
Wrapping both your arms around me I finally feel the warmth
I whisper my secret wishes
Please don't ever leave
You laugh and kiss me
Taking my breath away before I could ask
What was so funny
I asked in my hurt tone
You replied in the most darling and enchanting tone
That you could ever think that I would ever leave you
The stars twinkled above and we slipped into our blissful peace of our forever
