A Poem by Chelsea
"

A poem about jumping into life without fear!

"

Jump

Testing the waters

Making sure that I’m acceptable

A mirror image of the rest

When all that needs to happen is to jump

Jumping freely,

Pushing fears away of what others will think

I jump

Falling freely, enjoying it all the way

Saddened by what I’ve missed out on

This is a good piece...makes you think.
I took this as learning that the line between conforming/nonconforming is blurry at best. Might be interjecting my own view, but bear with me. I spent my whole life digging my heels into the ground resisting conformity, not going with what was popular because it appeared foolish and mindless so often. But now I look back on some of the things I missed out on and wondered what would have been the harm for some of it. Appearances of the rebel going with the crowd was the turn off so often when the event was somewhat fun looking.

In other words... I know now more than before even that ignorance is bliss...so why couldn't I just let go of my intelligence and have blind fun? Ah well...

Great job. I really agree with "desbest" when he says that it is about not conforming to whats "in". Its a really good poem. :) Looking foward to reading more of your work.

I think this poem is about having to (not) conform because others are not so accepting. I also think it's about not caring what people think and living life without paranoia. I think the person conformed, but "Pushing fears away of what others will think" suggests otherwise in a way.
