Planes

Planes

A Poem by Chelsea
"

For my Grandpa, who lost his life to a plane crash. And any others!

"

Planes

Engine steadily purrs

Propellers keep us airborne

Flying above the world

As if it were some model like terrain

 The engines halt!

We plummet

To our graves

Author's Note

Chelsea
I wrote this poem for my Grandpa, whom I never met, he died in a plane crash. He was the pilot! So this is dedicated to him.
I wrote it short, just so it would be hard hit. A lot of people lose their lives to this, so I wanted to capture the reality. Please tell me what you thought.

I have always like Aviation, my grandfather was in the Air Force from 55-63. He is still alive I liked his stories when i was a kid and still do to this day. My condulences to you about your grandfather. As I have said before no one should have to go through losing a relative. Great Work.

I'm so sorry for your loss Chelsea.
I think the way you have written it is good..short, just like I can imagine it would be when a plane crashes. No time to think about anything..Bang!
My late Father and my brother were pilots..I do understand the constant fear.

Really short, but dramatic!

Wow so sincere! I like the ending a lot but I find that the whole poem takes on new meaning, and I like it even better! Very fitting write, I like it.

Wow this was a simple poem but it has a huge impact at the end. This suddenness of the ending is perfect.

I have the TV on and a show is just beginning with a plane about to crash....then I come to this RR.........jeeeeeze! It does hit hard as you designed it. It was really weird though, seeing that scene on TV and then reading this....lol....good job!

Not bad at all. If it was a tiny tiny bit longer I think it would have a little more impact. It was still a very good and hard hitting poem. Great twist at the end.

Oh how tragic! My roommates in college were all pilots. I flew lots of places with them. Always was afraid they would screw-up. Makes a difference when you personally know the pilot and exactly when the quit drinking that morning.
Yes, I guess before a crash transpires there's not much warning. Scary!
