The falling of Snow

The falling of Snow

A Poem by Rcheyanne

Snow
Cascading onto the world
Falling down
Covering the world in a thin sheet of white
Muffling the everlasting chaos of this busy world
The snow brings calm within its sheet of white
Making the world pause
and turn our heads up to the sky
To see the snow falling down

This is a very nice brief piece that conveys a mood very well. The poet skillfully uses the imagery of snow as a protective sheet that muffles the world's chaos, and anyone who has watched snow gently covering a landscape can attest to the image's accuracy. Again, the poet suggests that snow brings a calm that makes the world pause "and turn our heads up to the sky" to see the snow fall. This physical looking up is a symbol of the spiritual "I will lift up mine eyes" that heals. Makes me almost wish for January. Good work here.
