Chaos

This is my free-verse poem about my random thoughts late one night.

chaos

 

swirls and swirls of random thoughts course

through my brain and into my veins tonight

too many for me to reign in all at once

yet they are too exciting to forget about

 

they pour out of me like rain tonight

      drip

                 drip

                           drip

                                     drip

so many shoot out every nano second

they're like shooting stars soaring across

the galaxy at the speed of light tonight

 

it's impossible to process all of them

in a thorough manner without

losing sight of who I am

or where I'm going in life

 

it's times like these

that I feel as if I live

in total chaos when I'm

forced to live within the 

realms of my thoughts

 

Author's Note

My mind is like this. I'm constantly thinking. Today I was in line at the post office, and I started fantasizing about all of the people waiting in line pairing up as romantic couples. My mind will not be still sometimes, even in line in the post office. Ha!

Wow! This is a really great poem. I love that I have joined this site and have a wealth of really cool poems to read daily. I like the physical layout of it too. My favourite line is this:

What can I say? The realms of your thoughts. At least it sounds sane. This poem seems very advanced. Maybe it's going beyond by intelligence and someone else could understand it better than I can. Who knows?
