Daisy

Daisy

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A flower poem about the daisy.

"

Daisy

Daisy, your white petals
and cheery yellow center
brings a smile to my face.

You are simple,
but the sight of you
brings out my dimples.

When I see you
I think of summer,
no funerals do I see,
or former boyfriend's

presence.

I see the wild flowers
of spring and summer,
I see picnics,
long flowing hair,
I see swimsuit sessions at the lake,
I see you in pictures that I take.

I'm so glad you are here,
to greet me on this
long day of the year.

Daisy I'll always hear the birds of spring
and summer chirping when I see you along
the road side.

You make me want to ride like the wind
on a wild stallion and be ten years old again,
Daisy.

I remember picking daisy's as a young girl, making chains very carefully, and the wonder of nature stays with you, and seeing daisy's I always remember that freedom as a child, and the heart warming beauty of being free.
You capture that well.

Its unfortunate how few people write about hope. This is a great poem of of hope and inspiration. And, I appreciate that.
