Turning Away From Emptiness

I thought I really knew you!

You weren’t a sweet and noble man

He was my fantasy,

Someone I thought I saw in you.

Mostly you were wasted space, an empty trash can

Money and emptiness weren't enough for me,

Needed someone that could be genuine and true

Release you to seeking company, roaming the lands

Time my heart finally set you free

Hope you find happiness and a warm hand

Someone new to serve you a steaming hot cup of tea

On my own now doing my best without a husband

Most days I’m as happy as can be

Best, hard as it is, to get him out of your system. He'll only drag you to places you don't wish to be any longer.

Bitterness is best served cold.
So many people are broken and crushed on the rocks of love, feelings of failure, and even grief.
You bare your heart in this

If someone is crushing us we will be much happier without them. Sometimes it takes getting through a lot of guilt and bitterness to reach that point, but we gotta give ourselves that chance. Nicely done.

hmf...exes...! This piece was well written and def. echoes feelings of despondence and need for warmth of others when relationships fail. Money can't buy you love...that's for sure!

Wow...those are some very frustrating thoughts...and yet you still show that strength to move on and move forward...
