Roly Poly

How you

Curl-up

Into a ball

In my small

Chubby hand

In self-defense

How I wish

I was so

Clever,

When night

Falls and

Daddy’s

Anger

Brings

Danger

To our

Warm

And

Comfy

Home

Marie Harrison
Too many children are victims of domestic violence. I wrote this one night after volunteering at a children's shelter and seeing a child with a black eye.

This is heart-wrenching. There is nothing worse than bad things happening to a child. You've captured it here perfectly.

This is a real tear jerker.

It makes blood boil to see a helpless and harmless child beaten or abused in any way, but these days it happens so often, through Booze, drugs or Sexual depravity, it sickens me.
Sorry Maria, poems do sometimes bring up emotions even in me

Can't cope with this image. Makes me sad and angry at the same time! I hate what this poem represents. However I don't think I'd want to feel any different about this subject. Good work Marie this one really got to me. completely chokes me. However it says what needs to be said.
